The United Methodist Church Preschool was organized in 1968. It is sponsored by the United Methodist Church as a service to the community. The overall objective is to provide a quality early childhood program in a Christian atmosphere with trained and experienced teachers.

All classes are held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from 8:00-11:00. Children are to arrive between 7:50 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. An Early Morning Playgroup is available for those who need an earlier drop off at 7:30.

UMC Preschool follows Project Construct, one of the four state approved curriculums and the Missouri Early Learning Goals, which were established by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The Missouri Early Learning Goals, are the standards set for all Early Childhood Programs in the state of Missouri.

The Preschool curriculum includes growth in the following areas: spiritual, social/emotional, language, physical, cognitive, and self-help/school readiness. We are fortunate to have a quality music program twice a month for the children. It provides musical expression through a variety of instruments, dance, games, rhyme, and rhythm songs. The children also benefit from many community resources.
We follow the state guidelines for License-exempt child care facilities. Before beginning school, we are required to have on file for each child, the following:

Copy of birth certificate
Copy of up-to-date immunizations or exemption letter
Medical form, signed and completed by a doctor
Enrollment Form
